According to an article on eleco.com Mariano will start his 10th (!!) season as professional tennis player in Sydney next week. Mariano's target is to improve his ranking quickly, since he is injury-free and has lots of confidence. Also, the article says that M scored a goal in a football exhibition match ! Congrats! Good luck to Team Tandil next week !!

Last night I saw an interview with Mariano in ESPN. He said that his objective for this year is to be among the first 20, as he was so close in previous years. Last year was not so good for him, even though he got good results in some tournaments (like Roma or Bastad) but that the injury he began the year with complicated the rest of the year (it was not completely healed). That's why he lost Roland Garros in 2nd round. He also said that he admires Roger Federer and David Nalbandian's game. And that he aims to win Davis Cup... That is all that I remember... Regards to all....

Yes, I hope he can have a good performance in Auckland and get through with no problems, then it's up to myself to carry on the Australiasian leg of the Marian tour.
I hope he has the good physical conditioning and Lobo can help him get more consistency on the backhand, he will need that to make a bigger step in the rankings.
Louise, you know where to find me if there are any messages to be delivered.

1st mouthwatering match of the year Kitzfan - I KNOW this match will be very painful for you but look on the bright side - you have a favourite in the 3rd round guarranteed NOW if there was TV coverage that would be perfect... but as we know from Paris..... both Fernando was brave enough to sit down under a TV screen showing Max beating him AND look like he was enjoying his evening too... so I am sure they will both enjoy this match as much as we will hate scoreboard (lack of) watching I will obviously be supporting Mariano (along with Lucas) and hope its a really close great match!
