Hey everybody: no news since Monday, and I was beginning to miss you... I know that this week there hadn't been tournaments for Mariano. Right now I am suffering with Davis Cup David is playing and he had lost first set, but he is up 5-2 in the second... wait a minute... he won the second!!! I'm a bit sad because I couldn't get tickets. They were all sold-out 2 weeks ago. This week many players had been supporting the team, including Mariano. He was with the team helping with their training. Very sweet from his part... I think that this time all the players feel part of the team, so there is a hope... Well, that's all. Best wishes for everybody Mercedes.

Hey Mercedes, do you mind giving us a "bench" report? Any sign of the Tandil guys? Or Chelita? It looks like David's match is disputed, hopefully he manages to win this fourth set! Vamos Argentina !! I am watching the Switzerland-Holland tie and am proud of how our guy fought against Schalken in his Davis Cup debut. Everything is a lot more difficult without Federer. And I am sorry you didn't get DC tickets :-(. Hopefully better luck next time!

Corina: I'm sorry I can't give you any kind of reports, since I'm at work suffering with a score board, or a radio, that from time to time says something about the match... I should be proud of your team; the guys seem to be fighting hard. A match of 5 sets demonstrates that. It is a pity that Roger is not playing DC. Things could be easier... Good luck for Switzerland!!! Mercedes.

I heard that both Mariano and Chela were there supporting their team. Good boys Argentina is up 2-0, as expected. Good luck for the doubles tomorrow !

Hola Mercedes!!! Sorry to hear you're (were) at the office instead of the tennis. Glad David won, and the Coria match looks exciting, too! I hope you're already at home watching it!!! (Oops, it's over now! 2:0. Great!!!) Btw, I miss South America, and I miss your summer. Yes, even the humid one. It's been snowing all day here... I was looking at the pics from this weeks practices at the BALTC and I said "there's my stadium!!!''. *sigh* Hope all is well with you, Mercedes, and please let us know if your plans get clearer!!! Hugs, egg

Hi all! ARGENTINA WON It was really nice to see the celebrations today!! Guys were really happy Mariano and Chelita were in the court today with the group cheering for David and Guillermo. When the match was over all the players including the ones who didn't play went to the center of the court to celebrate. Except for Mariano who was taping, for sure for his TV show. Well now it is not so easy... Australia will be waiting for us in the grass But, now let's enjoy this moment Corina!!! Switzerland has still hopes!! It might have been a tough match in doubles! VAMOS SUIZA! Egg: I'm sorry for your cold there... but don't miss Argentina, I'm sure that next year you are coming back I hope that next year "your" stadium will be bigger and modern... it seems that it is getting small My plans are going on but they are not clear yet... I think that no news until April or May. daussyk: no idea for clay tournament, but happily there will be action next week and we will be able to see our guy again Have an excellent weekend everybody... Mercedes.

Thanks Mercedes for the info !! I am so glad Argentina won and that everyone was happy (including the players who didn't play!!!)!!! And yes, the Swiss are still alive, yay I just came back from my tennis training and found out the good news. When I left they were two sets and matchpoint down, so I am so glad they managed to fight back! As everyone knows, I love fighters ! Good luck to team Argentina against Australia!! A victory is possible, even away from home !!!

Daussyk, Mariano is playing in Casablanca this year (not in Valencia). I am not sure, but I don't think the complete Barcelona entry list is out yet, so he still might play there. Picture of the Argentine team celebrating and Mariano filming (from espn.com)

Congratulations to team Argentina for the clean sweep! Great job! The boys look very happy, and understandably so. Funny, you always see so much champagne on Argentine DC pics. Mercedes, I actually liked that the BALTC wasn't that big. It was more cozy than most stadiums. But I imagine that it's little consolation for people who can't get tickets. Corina, congrats to your team!! It was an uphill battle from the word go, but they fought really hard. It was very impressive. And I just want to say that Ljubicic is a GOD!!! And hey, if a two-member Croatian team could beat the mighty US at home, maybe Argentina can also pull off a miracle in Australia! VAMOS ARGENTINA!!
