Mariano will be hosting a tv show about tennis in Argentina. It starts this sunday, it will be 30 mins long. This weekend he will interview GASTON GAUDIO. I will tell you all about after I see it. Mercedes: if you want to record it, here's the info...Tenis Pro, 14:30 hs, domingos por America. Did you guys know that Mariano and Alejandro broke off. Apparently they finished everything in good terms, Alejandro said he needed to spend time with his family for the next few months. Mariano is looking for a new coach. That's all the news I have. Take care all!! Melu

Hi Melu Thanks for the news.... What channel is it again? Marcus has a book telling him how to get 6 million new channels for our Digital Satellite thing, I need to set him a challenge Thank you for the "other" news too. How can I say this? I am shocked, but not surprised..... I read somewhere they had an agreement or something for 2 years... and thats up now. Message for Mariano - Good luck in finding a new coach!!!

Wow, I didn't expect this. But of course Gattiker's decision is understandable. Hopefully Mariano finds a new coach very soon... Thanks Melu for all the news, what would we do without you? Can't wait to hear all about Mariano's tv show debut !

Thanks for that Melu and I would love to see that show.
As long as they parted on good terms, then everything is good for Mariano.
As for a new coach why not Guillermo Perez Roldan or the tactical genius and Mariano's childhood hero Mats Wilander.

No, please, Melu, it is not your fault!!! You didn't know what my plans were, but it was bad from my part to say that... In fact it was better, because when I read your post, I looked for America 2 webpage and realized that it was possible to watch the program online, so it will better for the girls...

Girls, thanks for thinking of us!!! Hope the on-line thing will work, but a tape won't hurt either! I'm sorry to hear that we won't see Gattiker around. He'll be missed. Amazing how fast two years fly by... But these were two good years, I say! As for the future coach, GWH, Wilander was my first favourite player (geez, I can't believe it was 16 years ago he won that US Open!) so I wouldn't mind seeing him more, but I think he's still pretty busy on the senior tour. I'd be curious to see Perez Roldan too, I haven't seen him for ages. Hope he hasn't changed as much as Mancini. Anyway, I hope Mariano finds a coach, and a good one, soon!

The on-line thing worked, thanks so much Mercedes for the link !! Mariano did a great job, although I can't say I understood very much of the talkings (under-title would have been great!!!!) ! I loved the laughs between Mariano and Gaston, must have been a fun conservation ! Also liked M's travel camera-filming.... very interesting: the messy hotel room, M and Chela dressing up for the Olympics opening ceremony, their practicing in Athens (or what they call practicing....) and of course the playing football, etc Is this show every Sunday??

Thanks for the link Mercedes I missed the first half... - but my excuse was a good one - I had a little man update I caught the "exclusive" relaxed totally laid-back approach to "Interviewing a Grand Slam Champion" though - that was lovely!!!!

Hi girls! the show was good... very relaxed and with that new esthetics, short scenes very fast... Mariano was ok, for sure he will improve in next shows, but he approved the first episode... (Corina, it is a weekly show)... I will record some programs and send them to you, so, please, a little patience.. What I can't provide you is subtittles ;D... but anything you are interested to know and don't understand, feel free to ask, I'll try to explain the meaning....I know that it could be a little difficult to understand since they were using very coloquial language... tip: they often use the word "boludo" (or its derivations: "bolú", etc...) The real meaning of this word, is a bad one, but it is very used nowadays among people, it is just a friendly replace of everybody's name. When I was a kid, this word was seen as a bad one, and my parents prohibited its use... but now, teens and young people use it very much as Mariano and Gastón did in the interview... All mothers nowadays say "why I spent so much time thinking your name, and now your friends call you Boludo!!!"... Example: instead of saying, "Qué hacés Mariano?" (How are you doing Mariano?), it would be: "Qué hacés Bolú?"... Qué hacés is a very argentinian way to say "Cómo te va" in real Spanish... Melu don't laugh at my tip!!! ;D hahahaha Next week another tip sponsored by Mercedes Inc. Ok, don't think I'm crazy with all these comments, just had a good weekend

Boludo, the greatest word in Argentine Spanish.
Sadly, I missed this show, but I have heard some good reports from this.
Someone told me that he asked Gaudio if it's his goal to be N°1 and he answered: "The only way I can beat Federer and Rodthingy is in a cards game" ;D
Chela was supposed to be very funny and hopefully he gets some more good interviews.

Hahaha Mercedes...taking the girls through the rough path with that argentine vocabulary? The show was good, in an informal way and funny one too. Mariano will get loose a bit more as the weeks pass by, he has the personality to host a show in my opinion. The GG interview was very funny cause Mariano asked a question but he was the one answering as well, hahahha. So Gaston didn't know what else to add. Both were really tempted and laughed on every single q. Mariano asked him about his hopes of becoming nº1 some day, and Gaston answered : "Honestly speaking? The one thing I can do with Federer & Rodthingy right on top is to play truco". Another funny moment was when Mariano asked what did he wanted to do in Bs As (being with his family, going out for dinner, spending time with friends, play golf?) and GG looked at him and said: Well, Bolu... you answered everything yourself, what do you want me to say. Mariano asked him if he played football and Gaston said that among friends once in while they did. Mariano remarked that GG was bad at it...very funny. They showed how they both played fifa video games of course! Oh...and Mariano really loves his green t-shirts! At the very end, they show all the mistakes/ bloopers Mariano made between shots. But the cherry of the top was Chelita singing in the bathroom and in a bus in Athens...priceless. I hope I didn't forget anything! Melu.

Thanks Mercedes for your Argentine Spanish lessons, very much appreciated ! Looking forward to the next lesson, boludo ! And thanks Melu for telling us more about what was said between G and M, they are really funny, those too ! So it was Chelita singing? Wasn't sure, as the picture was not really sharp! Wow, he definitely has some talent ! Can't wait for the next show !

I've just listened a radio interview with Mariano about his TV Show. He said: - "I am doing this TV show just for fun. My main activity is tennis, and I think I will be playing for 4 or 5 years more in a good level, well my level, hehehe" - "I was chosen for hosting this show because the producers though I have a good relationship with everybody in the circuit and because I'm a shameless person. (I think I heard that the program was produced by a spanish company, but I'm not sure)" - "At first I felt embarrased doing the show. But when I watched the final product, the show edited, I liked it" - "This activity doesn't take time from my training. For example, today I trained from 9 am to 11:30 and now I will make an interview for 1 hour and a half. (he was going to interview Agustín Calleri, and they were in Vilas' club)" - "When I was in Brazil for an exhibition tournament, I made an interview to Guga" Well, that is all... So, don't worry... Mariano is not leaving tennis by now...

I read somewhere that M's tennis show is an hour earlier this Sunday which means 1.30 pm Argentine time... Can someone confirm this??? Oh and Mercedes, my friend Ana told me that "boludo" is only used for males and that there is no female version of that word. Sorry, I offended you by calling you like that !

Yes Corina. It's at 1:30 pm because the show comes after a movie so they depend on the movie length.
Cheers!
